Woodbine Cottage is a 19th Century small house, neat but modest from the outside. It is when you open the front door that you enter a world of modern luxury and comfort - even down to a fridge filled with ingredients for a substantial breakfast.

Cottage, Bed & Breakfast

The cottage has everything you could ask for - sumptuously comfortable furniture and bedrooms, a flat screen television, video, stereo system, split cycle air conditioning, a magnificent Norwegian wood heater set in a slate fireplace, superbly equipped modern kitchen, a large spa bath, a shower, washing and drying machines, the third bedroom has a telephone/fax machine.

The view from the balcony is quite beautiful and steps from there take you down to the private courtyard area with outdoor dining setting, a Weber barbeque and a fernery.

A few more steps lead you down to a peaceful alcove where you may sit and drink in the beauty of the park-like grounds of Lost Valley, access to which is through the lychgate down a few more steps.

Locality

Blackwood, arguably the most beautiful mountain village in Victoria, is a delightful little township set in the mountains of the Wombat State Forest, just over one hour's drive from Melbourne, and about 25 minutes from Daylesford, Woodend or Kyneton. Wherever you turn the views are of beauty and peace. It offers bush-walking, fishing, horse-riding and is home to the famous Garden of St Erth. There are numerous places to eat, and the Mineral Springs have been renowned for many decades.

If you don't know Blackwood, you have a delight in store.

Woodbine Cottage is set in one of the more beautiful cottage gardens in Victoria. Guests are invited to explore the 3.5 acre English style park-like grounds of the owners' adjoining "Lost Valley".
The regular visiting kangaroos and miriad birdlife will enchant you.
