Bilpin Springs Lodge is a beautiful country house located in the Bilpin district of the Blue Mountains. Perfect for couples, families and groups wanting a private booking, the lodge sleeps a maximum of 20 people in a mix of queen bedded garden view rooms and family suites. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms and are very comfortable. There's also a bunkroom that's ideal for singles and teenagers. Breakfast is included each day.

Facilities and inclusions onsite at the lodge are; spa, farm animals, log fire, trout fishing, yabbying, ponies to pat, kids playground, huge country kitchen for self catering and indoor basketball/trampoline when there's wet weather.

One night bookings midweek and weekends are OK (subject to availability). Our speciality is private groups of up to 20 people wanting to book out the whole lodge for a weekend. Either when staying in Bilpin for a wedding at a nearby wedding venue or for a big family and friends get together.

Locality

Bilpin Springs Lodge lies in the Blue Mountains/Hawkesbury district. Guests have easy access to all of the sights of the Blue Mountains such as the 3 Sisters and Katoomba plus we're very close to the Zig Zag railway and Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens.

Driving time from Sydney to the lodge is only 1.5hours. Only 2 minutes from the lodge is the Apple Bar restaurant which does great food, has a big fire in winter and has a great, stylish country feel. So you can self cater or enjoy eating out at one of the many restaurants in Bilpin/Kurrajong - all only a few minutes away.

Property

For couples, families and groups, Bilpin Springs Lodge is wonderful and unique. You can enjoy all of the facilities onsite plus go sightseeing and touring around the Blue Mountains and Hawkesbury area.

The lodge has a huge country kitchen that you can use for self catering if you wish or you can enjoy excellent restaurant dining only 2 minutes from the lodge. BBQs on the verandah are a favourite with our guests as the kids play with farm animals, swim in the spa and play in the sandpit and playground. Dads love fishing for trout and mums love relaxing at Bilpin Springs Lodge.

Five minutes from Bilpin Springs Lodge is the Bowen Creek 4WD track. This track is probably the most incredibly scenic and thrilling (but perfectly safe) 4WD track available anywhere in the Blue Mtns - and it's located just a few minutes from the lodge. If you follow the full length of the trail thru to Mt Wilson, then return to the lodge via Bells Line of Road the total trip time including stops at Bowen Creek and Mt Wilson is approx 3 hrs.

Ten minutes from the lodge is the Burralow Fire trail 4WD track. This is a magnificent backcountry 4WD track that goes all the way thru the Blue Mtns National Park to Kurrajong Heights. It's a one and a half hour trip from the entrance of Burralow trail at Bilpin to the end point at Kurrajong Heights with stops enroute at Burralow Creek. You can also explore the caves at Burralow and look for glowworms.

The third excellent 4WD option nearby to the lodge is Newnes Plateau. You can drive all the way to the large glowworm tunnel or follow the rough Blackfellows Hand track all the way thru to Newnes Valley. This is an amazing, difficult but very rewarding 4WD journey taking approx 4 hrs return.

Accessible

Suitable only for persons with limited mobility but not wheelchair users, Chairs are permitted in the shower, Door frames are wider to suit wheelchairs, Unimpeded wheelchair access from car parking to the property, Some stairs, described below, Toilet is big enough to fit a wheelchair.

Bilpin Springs Lodge has a lovely ground floor family suite which is fully accessible and ideal for guests with limited mobility or in wheelchairs. From the carpark there's a ramp up one step leading into the bedroom. The shower and toilet are fully accessible with no steps or lips impeding access. The remainder of the lodge building including guest kitchen, dining room, lounge room, TV room, kids indoor play area with trampoline, table tennis and basketball is all fully accessible. The lodge does not comply with Australian wheelchair access standards however guests in wheelchairs and guests with limited mobility or who just want to stay in a ground floor unit and who don't want to climb stairs have often stayed with us and loved staying with their family and friends at Bilpin Springs Lodge.

Adult retreat

The lodge can booked out on a private basis for an adults only weekend. All main bedrooms have gorgeous queen beds and lovely ensuite bathrooms. A seperate guest bathroom with large private bath is also available.

Our outside spa is perfect for an adults retreat. Whether for a couple or 10 friends, relaxing under the stars with the moon rising and steam from the spa rising into the night sky is an experience never forgotten. A private weekend booking of the lodge is perfect for an adults escape.

We are currently compiling a bird list for the property. Nearby to Bilpin Springs Lodge is the Newnes Plateau which is well known as the premier bird watching site within a couple of hours of Sydney. In 2010 we will be commencing our own birdwatching tours from Sydney and staying at Bilpin Springs Lodge.

Wollomi National Park is on the boundary of Bilpin Springs Lodge. We have a 1km boundary loop bushwalking track on the property. Within 10/15 minutes you have access to magnificent tracks, trails and views in the Blue Mtns National Park and Wollomi National Park.

We have a small dam on the property that kids love kayaking and canoeing on. We have kayaks/canoes available for people use all the time at no charge. We also have life vests for kids to wear if they are not good swimmers. Guests are welcome to bring their own kayaks and visit other well known kayak spots in the Blue Mtns.

Bilpin Springs Lodge is run on all possible eco principles. Green wasted is saved and fed to our chooks, all toilet waste is disposed of onsite, all water is sourced onsite. In 2010 we are proposing to install windmills for electricity generation, feeding the power back into the grid.

Private executive rentals of the whole of Bilpin Springs Lodge are welcome. We have 5 x queen bedded garden view rooms with lovely ensuite bathrooms. If you have a larger group and people are OK to share rooms with colleagues then the lodge can comfortably sleep executive groups of up to 20 people.

Many additional meeting facilities are available to you. Wireless internet is available free throughout the lodge. A dedicated meeting room is available with flip chart. Powerpoint presentations using lodge projector facilities are all possible. Breakout locations are available and the grounds are lovely to walk, talk and enjoy.

Breakfast is provided daily at the lodge. Full meal service with lunch and dinner prepared by our staff is also available for inhouse groups. The lodge is an ideal location for corporate getaways, training and seminars.

Bilpin Springs Lodge is perfect for a family holiday. Onsite activities include swimming, kayaking/canoeing, fishing, yabbying, playground, farm animals, trampoline, table tennis, indoor basketball plus loads more activities. Our outdoor spa is always very popular with kids of all ages. We have a portacot, high chairs. The whole lodge is setup for families. Kids love the place and parents can relax, enjoy, rejuvenate in comfort and style. We have special family suites setup sleeping families of 3, 4 or up to 6 people. All of these rooms have ensuite bathrooms.

Farmland Experiences

Farm animals live on the property, Cattle, Chickens, Horses, Dogs, Other farm animals, Guests able to interact with the farm animals.

Bilpin Springs Lodge is a B&B/farmstay. Kids can pat rabbits, chooks, feed the horse and have fun with Coola, our pet labrador. The lodge is not a working farm. But we are on 10 acres of land and familys all enjoy our farmstay experience. Our neighbours are all farms of different types. Next door is Bilpin Springs Orchard - from January till May each year the orchard is open for 'pick your own'. Apples, peaches, plums and cherries are available during these months. Other pick your own orchards are located 1 minute from the lodge. Across the road is Seans Panorama farm with sheep, cows and orchards. Bilpin is a rich farming district and you are staying right in the middle of the farms. You can also buy fresh produce from many of these farms directly from farmers stalls at the side of the road.

Fishing

We have a large dam on the property which is stocked with large (dinner plate) sized trout. Each guest is welcome to catch and keep one trout per day. Any more fish caught must be released.

Bilpin Springs Lodge is the perfect venue to book out privately for getaway with gay and lesbian friends. The lodge is very private. All staff are very comfortable with gay and lesbian couples enjoying the facilities and relaxing at the lodge. Our outdoor spa is especially popular with gay and lesbian couples.

Horse riding

We have a small pony onsite - it's not suitable for riding. However guests are welcome to bring along their own horses. From the lodge there's excellent riding on the tracks and trails around Bilpin.

Pet friendly

Small dogs (less than 11 kg) are permitted, Medium dogs (11 kg to less than 34 kg) are permitted, Large dogs (34 kg or heavier) are permitted, Pets are permitted outside only, Secure, fully fenced running area, Food and water bowls provided, Bedding/sleeping area provided, Other domesticated animals reside at the property.

Guests staying at Bilpin Springs Lodge are welcome to bring their dog(s) along for a holiday in the Blue Mtns. We have special kennels available for visiting pets to stay in. There are indoor and outdoor locations where pets can sleep. The dogs owners can choose which location better suits their dog. Dogs are not permitted inside the main lodge building/house - this is due to health regulations. However dogs can sleep right outside the French doors on our ground floor room so owners and pets can be very close together if need be.

Owners should bring their own dogs food along for the duration of their stay. We do have dog bowls for food and water available. Guests dogs are welcome to run around the whole property whilst the owners are onsite and as long as the dog is supervised and not causing trouble to other guests. There is also a large dog paddock where visiting dogs can stay when their owners arn't around.

The lodge is set on 10 acres of lawns, garden and bushland. It's a great place for owners to bring their dogs, to run around and explore the place. We have our own dog at the lodge - Coola a Labrador. Owners bringing their own dog to Bilpin Springs Lodge should please ensure their dog is healthy, free of fleas and vaccinated.
