Mcananly Homestead is a guesthouse, situated in Beechworth's beautiful hinterland. It is set in 82 acres of natural bushland and as you enter the property you'll be surrounded by towering Blue Gums, Stringy Barks and Peppermints. The house sits proudly on top of the hill waiting for you to explore its charm. If you've been looking for a place to really unwind with your family or friends but want the option of things to do, then you've found it. Mcananly is only 30 minutes from Albury-Wodonga and Wangaratta so it's easy to have a special night away with a few friends or family members without driving for hours to get there. FOOD & WINE
The best restaurants, wineries and cafes are all within easy reach of Beechworth. The King Valley and Rutherglen food and wine districts are within 3/4 hours drive as is the famous Milawa Cheese Factory.
SHOPS
Amazing clothing, jewelry and gift stores are at your feet.
TOURS
The Beechworth Tourist Information Centre can organise tours of just about any description. The most popular one at the moment is the Ghost Tour at Mayday Hills.
ACTIVITIES
Golfing at the Beechworth, Myrtleford or Bright Golf courses is very popular.
Cycling along the Rail Trail is a must.
Bush walking around Beechworth's Historic National Park takes in some fantastic sites.
Horse riding through the forest trails up to the Mumungee Lookout then stopping for a drink at the Stanley pub on the way home is just one of many trails you can take. There's plenty of room for your horse at Mcananly Homestead.
Tennis, swimming, fishing, berry picking, and fossicking are just a few more of the activities that Beechworth offers.

Beechworth puts on several well known festivals throughout the year and is a great place to base yourself for other festivals in the district such as the 'Yakandandah Folk Festival', 'Opera in the Alps', 'Winery Walk-About', 'Chiltern Ironbark Festival' and the 'Wangaratta Jaz Festival' just to name a few.

We are unable to offer dinner, however there are some wonderful restaurants & hotels in Beechworth.

Mcananly Homestead is set in 80 acres of beautiful bushland,full of wildlife and eucalypts. It offers self-contained Eco-friendly guesthouse accommodation for up to 10 people. Having a north-east aspect the home is totally solar powered. We use energy saving light bulbs throughout, gas cooking and hot water system, wood combustion heaters and natural ventilation for cooling.
Our guests are encouraged to limit their use of high energy consuming items such as, hairdryers, laptops, DVD players, irons and toasters.
Guests are also encouraged to save water by having short showers and using the half flush button on the toilets. All shower and laundry water is diverted into a grey water tank which is diverted back into the toilet system or garden dripper system. A large roof area allows us to catch 12,500 litres of water for every inch of rain and the overflow empties into another tank specifically set aside for the garden when grey water is low.
The garden is heavily mulched, cutting down on the need for constant watering and the lawn is a fescue 'Arid' variety which requires very little watering during summer.
Much of the homestead's building materials have been recycled including windows, roofing and dado boards.
Guests are encouraged to put their food scraps in the compost bucket and put recyclables in the bin provided on the veranda. We compost all lawn and garden clippings as well. We are looking forward to starting the veggie garden very shortly.
Environmentally friendly toilet paper and shower gel are always provided for guests. All linen is washed on site using a front loader and only pillow slips are ironed.
We are very proud of our Eco-friendly home and would love to share the experience with you.

Lingarri Homestead is a great place to let your children play safely in a large enclosed yard away from trafic and strangers. Exploring the bush adjacent to the homestead and looking for animals along the walking tracks are also fantastic holiday activities they can do with your supervision

Located less than 5 minute drive to water, Boatramp within 5 minute drive, Boat storage/parking available onsite, Fishing spots available nearby, Fishing gear available for use, Local fishing knowledge available.

Mcananly Homestead is located between Lake Kerford & Lake Sambel. These 2 lakes are stocked by the Fisheries & Wildlife department. Both are within a short 5 minute drive. Fishing gear can be made available on loan, however a security deposit will be required.
