Beachhaven Treasures

Apart from the luxuries that Beachhaven has to offer, the local surrounds provide a beautiful backdrop for any number of relaxing activities.

Picnicking - There are many picnic areas by the coast, rivers and streams and BBQ facilities at Audley, Warumbul, Wattamolla, Garie and Bonnie Vale.

Walking - Numerous walking tracks provide access to a spectacular range of scenery.

Cycling - Lady Carrington Drive is relatively flat and wide and is closed to motor vehicles, making it ideal for cycling. Cycling is only permitted on service trails (not walking tracks).

Swimming - There is safe salt water swimming at Bonnie Vale, Jibbon, Wattamolla and Little Marley beaches. Garie, Era and Burning Palms are well known surfing spots. You should exercise care because surf beaches- often develop strong and dangerous currents. There are freshwater swimming holes at Blue Pools, Karloo Pools, Deer Pool, Curracurrong and Crystal Pools. Jumping and diving into rock pools is not advisable.

Boating and Canoeing - You can use private craft downstream of the Audley causeway.

Photography - Walking tracks have been designed to give access to the most scenic areas and there are outstanding views at Bungoona, Wattamolla, Governor Game and Orford Lookouts. Waterfalls, such as National Falls and Winifred Falls and the falls at Curracurrong are easily accessible.

Birdwatching and Wildflowers - over 200 species of birds have been recorded in the park. There are over 700 species of wildflowers and plants in the park.

Travel By Car from Sydney: (Audley Entrance) 29km south from Sydney GPO, via the Princess Highway, turn left, 2.3 south of Sutherland.
From Liverpool: (Waterfall Entrance) 33km east via Heathcote Road, then south on the Princes Highway to Waterfall.
From Wollongong: (Otford Entrance) 28km north, via Stanwell Park.
