Cottage, Bed & Breakfast, Guest house

The Dairy B&B provides a fun accommodation experience in a piece of Bathurst's history. Formerly known as Greenlawn Dairy it was once a thriving farm providing milk on early morning horse and cart runs to a lot of Bathurst residences. It ceased operation in the 1960s.

Nowadays the old milkhouse has been restored to a 2 bedroom cottage and the main farm house has an additional wing for B&B guests. Both projects won regional National Trust awards in 2000 and 2002 for the restoration and sympathetic additions to an old house.

We offer 5 bedrooms - 3 queen and 2 king/twin rooms plus some extra single and foldout beds. Guests enjoy the unique experience of staying with us and comment on the delightful attention to detail that is part of the Dairy's style.

Breakfasts are healthy and delicious - fresh and/or poached fruit (homegrown rhubarb is very popular), yoghurt, juice, cereals, range of bread/toast/condiments, good plunger coffee, variety of teas - to be enjoyed in the (mostly) sunny breakfast areas. Help yourself at whatever time you like......

NB Min night stay group booking packages apply for car race and other special events. Can sleep 6-8 guests.

Thank you so much for your generosity, hospitality and a breakfast to remember JM

Locality

Our Bathurst B&B is in a great position for an enjoyable visit to the Central West - Explorer Country. Located close to Orange, Mudgee, Cowra and the attractions of the Blue Mountains it is en route to the Dubbo Zoo and roughly equidistant from Sydney and Canberra.

It claims to be the oldest inland city and has a wealth of historical homes, heritage buildings and gardens and a couple of main streets (with old gas lamps) wide enough to turn a bullock team.

Mt Panorama and the motor racing museum are great drawcards while others come for the wonderful monthly Grower's Market and to sample the attractions of the burgeoning food and wine industry.

The Australian Fossil Museum, Regional Gallery, shopping in Keppel Street, cafes, restaurants, and forays to the many outlying historical towns such as Sofala, Hill End, Carcoar, Millthorpe are all possibilities during a stay in Bathurst. We also throw in some dramatic seasonal changes (just for fun) as you explore the spectacular countryside of the region.
