Cottage

Folly Cottage sits nestled in a totally private corner, adjacent to the old shearing shed & grain silo, overlooking the beautiful Tarana Valley.
Here you will find a stylish, cosy, affordable retreat where you can rest & unwind, celebrate, read or take a long walk up the hill to our private pine forest, & maybe have a picnic, gather a few mushrooms or rest & enjoy the magnificent panorama from that part of the farm. Yet, you are close to Mayfield gardens, Jenolan Caves, Oberon, the O'Connell & Tarana pubs & all the quaint villages of the district.
The recent restoration has taken the cottage to beyond its former life as the managers cottage, with extra added comforts such as airconditioning & a smart new bathroom. The north facing verandah off the living room, previously enclosed, has been reopened providing a sunny sheltered nook to enjoy the stunning views.....perfect for dinner on warm nights or morning tea on those
brisk sunny clear mornings for which the tablelands is famous. A great place to watch the antics of the calves, & observe the kangaroos quietly feeding nearby.
BATHURST RACE WEEK......Tariff is $450.00 per night for maximum of 4 people - minimum 4 night stay applies.

Locality

O'Connell is a heritage listed town very conveniently located 20 minutes from Bathurst & Oberon ( Jenolan Caves, Mayfield gardens) It has a quaint pub built in 1865 serving delicious meals.
The fish river meanders through the district & there are numerous swimming holes & pretty secluded picnic spots.
Chifley dam has fantastic recreational facilities & is well worth a visit because of it's attractive location.

Property

Folly Cottage is on a farm of 100acres.
The farm has its own private pine forest where mushrooms are plentiful in the right season.
The cottage is fully self contained & located about 80meters from the main house with stands of peppertrees, crabapples & garden separating the two. It has recently undergone a stylish makeover & is much more than an old farm cottage.
The verandah leads off the main bedroom ( with king bed) & living room & is a relaxing spot for a drink & a B.B.Q
