Day 1 (L, )
West along the MacDonnell Ranges to historic Hermannsburg.
Off the beaten track as we head into the Finke Gorge National Park. Boggy Hole provides some awesome scenery, unique bird watching and a place to swim at lunchtime.
Red Sand & ancient Desert Trees. We are the only Tour Company using these 4WD Tracks regularly enroute to Kings Canyon.
Day 2 ( L,D )
Rim walk at Kings Canyon or the Valley walk among Cycads & Rivergums.
We continue Ossies’ format of “Tracks less Traversed” on our way to Uluru Ancient Desert Oaks amongst beautiful Red Sand Hills along a track not known by modern travellers.
At Uluru sunset you’ll enjoy nibbles and sparkling wine.
Day 3 (B,L,D)
Sunrise breakfast at Uluru before base walks or climb. Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) for walks and sight seeing. before departure to Kulgera Motel via Mulga Park Road – Len Beadells first section of the Gunbarrel Highway.
Day 4 (B,L,D)
Breakfast in the Roadhouse dining room. Eastwards towards Finke/Apatula Town. Lambert Centre – mainland Australia, geographical balance point. Old Ghan Rail Town of Finke. Along the Finke Desert Race Track. South to Charlotte Waters Telegraph Station ruins. Across NT/SA Border to Mt Dare Hotel.
Day 5 (B, L, D):
Birding & nature walks for early risers around Mt Dare Hotel. Witjira National Park to Dalhousie Homestead ruins. Smoko, swim & relax in the nearby Dalhousie Thermal Springs. Campfire Lunch & Billy Tea amongst Sand Dunes & Mulga Scrub. Return, via Blood Creek sheep station & wine shanty ruins, to Mt Dare Hotel for a relaxing evening.
Day 6 (B,L)
8.00AM departure, north into Finke Floodout Forest and back into NT 4WD along Bulldust silt tracks, through thick Coolibah Forest. Molly Clarks Heritage listed Homestead “Old Andado” built in the 1920’s.
Mac Clark Acacia Peuce Reserve.
North beside a huge Red Dune, we depart the Simpson Desert . Gidgee Trees ( to Santa Teresa Aboriginal Town. View inside a beautifully decorated. 80km’s west into Alice Springs.
