Derwent Hideaway is ideally located close to a shopping centre, the Glenorchy CBD, some of Tasmania's largest employers and the best tourist attractions north of Hobart including Moorilla, Alpenrail, Cadburys, Bonorong Wildlife Park, Richmond, Salmon ponds and the Derwent valley. Golf and Bowling facilities are close by.

Derwent Hideaway is rented short to medium term at competitive rates and is suitable for business people looking for a somewhere to stay, a retreat or quiet place to work or holiday makers keen on sampling the many attractions that the Hobart region is famous for.

Derwent Hideaway is fully furnished, has a fully equipped kitchen and laundry, barbecue, towels, linen, TV, etc. Wireless broadband and computer facilities are provided.

Locality


Derwent Hideway is set in a historic area with many old building including Austins Cottage, probably build around 1810.

The Derwent provides opportunities for white water canoeing or jetboating further upstream at the historic town of New Norfolk or enjoy a more relaxing time playing golf or bowling at local clubs.

Tasmania is endowed with every activity possible from jetboating to skiing, from mountain climbing to some of the best walking in the world. Snorkelling or surfing, fishing or just snoozing on a beach are all within an hour or so of Derwent Retreat. For those who like dining, nightclubing or gambling, Hobart’s inner suburbs of North Hobart and Salamanca are just a 15 minute drive away and Australia’s first licensed casino, Wrest Point is just a 20 minute drive away.

Salamanca market is a must on Saturday and Moorilla winery is very close to spend the afternoon listening to jazz and tasting their wares. Book a tour of the Cadbury chocolate factory and indulge in chocolates, visit Al[penrail or Moorilla. All are within easy reach of Derwent Hideaway.

Property


Derwent Hideaway is a fully furnished 1950's self contained villa dominated by two huge historic oaks trees that also has absolute waterfront to the Derwent river and great views of the Derwent, yachts at anchor and Mount Direction.

All rooms have majestic views of the Derwent river and Mt Wellington. It has a master bedroom with queen sized bed and ensuite with shower and toilet. A second bedroom with a double bed and bedroom with two single beds are served by a second bathroom and separate toilet.

The property has a modern fully equipped kitchen with microwave, hotplates, stove and fridge. The laundry has a washing machine and dryer. On the balcony there is a gas barbecue and an outdoor setting. All linen and crockery are provided and there is a TV, stereo etc., central heating or wood stove for warmth, a local call only telephone.There is a large garden dominated by two historic oaks planted by Lady Franklin and a great outdoor area for relaxation.
