Just over an hour from Melbourne, George's is located at Arthur's Seat on the idyllic Mornington Peninsula. Here you'll be a stones throw from award-winning wineries, quality local produce, world class golf courses, marine activities, art galleries, walking tracks and natural spa treatments. The base for your stay is an architecturally designed masterpiece, the Arthurs Seat summit views from the balcony alone make the stay worthwhile.

George's isn't just another B&B. George's hosts an exclusive cooking retreat. The retreat runs periodically throughout the year, catering from beginner to budding chef extraordinaire. We run intimate group settings, 8 per group, so you will always have access to our master chef instructor. Each retreat will have its own theme, perhaps with a Tuscan or Moroccan based feel selecting the finest produce from local markets. When you're not cooking up a storm maybe a spa treatment or round of golf might interest you. Whatever your taste our themes are sure to satisfy!

Inside, local art lines the walls among boutique style modern furnishing and your sanctuary away from it all is completed by king size beds with crisp white linen and a thoughtful collection of pillow fillings. No detail has been left unattended.

The Rooms

With the city of Melbourne visible in the distance the summit view from your room is breathtaking by day and dazzling by night.

The upper level suites are individually air conditioned with doors opening to a private balcony. They feature contemporary furnishings and lighting, a lavish king side bed (suites can be set to accommodate two singles) which are complimented by stunning ottomans and original contemporary art.

Each suite has a high quality LCD flat screen TV, DVD and high speed internet connectivity.

You'll simply marvel at the sumptuously appointed bathrooms featuring atest in European fittings.

George's has been conceived to create a unique Australian version of the live-in cooking schools so popular internationally. In recognizing Australia's maturing culinary appreciation and skill as well as the magnificent offerings of local produce George's provides insightful and fun cooking experiences to intimate groups over three days. George's is about kick starting the beginners life long food and wine appreciation journey and adding depth to the knowledge and experience of those who are already on it.

When establishing George's only one location in all of Australia was considered perfect. Atop Arthur's Seat over looking Port Phillip Bay and in the middle of the prestigious Mornington Peninsula wine region George's is just over an hours drive from the Melbourne GPO. When not hosting cooking schools George's provides luxurious boutique B&B accommodation for the many visitors to this iconic travel destination. No longer is it necessary to travel to France or Italy for the gourmet experience of your life. Modelled on the live-in participatory cooking schools made so famous in Europe, George's gourmet retreats have been designed to complement Australia's maturing palate.

Each gourmet retreat will offer a different theme and every participant will gain a valuable insight into cooking skills, techniques and ingredients in a relaxed and entertaining manner.

The gourmet retreats run over three days and two fun filled nights. As well as introducing one of Australia's most exciting new chefs, Duncan White-Robertson, the retreats bring together the iconic features of the Mornington Peninsula. Such features include;

- local producer tours including the famous Sunny Ridge Strawberry Farm and Red Hill Cheese

- wine matching by Mornington Peninsula's leading sommeliers at the evening dinners

- wine tasting tour

- a private outdoor naturally heated mineral spa at the Peninsula Hot Springs

- marine activities (perhaps a swim with the dolphins or a champagne sail)
