All that water means a fantastic array of bird life is always present and ever changing as the seasons pass.

Located in Brookdale, it is just a few minutes from the Armadale City Centre and train station, and less than 30 minutes away from Perth or Fremantle. The International Airport is only 20 minutes away and the Domestic Airport 30 minutes.

The accommodation at Birdhaven Retreat features a self contained room with spacious en suite and private patio with a private entrance. The room features queen size bed, TV, fridge, kettle, iron and ironing board, dressing table and wardrobes.

Birdhaven Retreat is close to a variety of local attractions and award winning restaurants. Please note the premises are not suitable for children.

The merging of the Wungong River, Southern River and Neerigen Brook on Birdhaven Retreat's doorstep makes the area a magnet for an ever changing array of bird life.

Guests are guaranteed a daily display of Great Egrets, sacred ibis, pelicans, the cartoon like purple swamp hens, Pied Herons, grey herons, parrots and cockatoos.

At certain times of the year there will also be Splendid Blue Fairy Wrens, Sacred Kingfishers, breeding Black Swans, eagles, Golden Breasted Mountain Ducks, Banded Rails, Black Cockatoos, plus ducks, geese and water fowl of many descriptions.

As well as the birds, you may be lucky enough to see long necked tortoise or "oblongs" plus a variety of goannas.

Make sure to bring your camera and binoculars.

Please note: Birdhaven is a completely non smoking environment.

Birdhaven Retreat is located in Brookdale, a short journey from the Tonkin Highway and Kwinana Freeway. It is just a few minutes drive from the centre of Armadale and less than 30 minutes away from Perth or Fremantle. The International Airport is only 20 minutes away and the Domestic Airport 30 minutes.

It is located on the banks of the Wungong River where it joins the Southern River and Neerigen Brook. The merging of these three waterways creates a massive lake most of the year, especially in the winter. Water levels may drop during the height of summer or prolonged drought, however the birdlife remains constant.
