Reasonably priced, self-contained family accommodation in American River, a tiny, historical town on Kangaroo Island. We are situated about 30 minutes by car from the ferry, and the same from Kingscote, the island's capital, where the airport is located.

Convenient for all of the island's attractions, American River is off the main road so offers a tranquil environment, even by Kangaroo Island standards!

Wildlife abounds. You may have Tammar Wallabies feeding outside your unit at night and a sighting of the rare Glossy Black Cockatoo is almost guaranteed.

We are surrounded by pleasant walks and beautiful scenery which beckons you to explore.

Internet access is available in the adjacent post office (under the same management) as is a gift shop and book exchange.

The units were nice and comfortable. They were great value and close to everything American River has to offer. Having the native wildlife literally at your front door was amazing and the kids got a thrill out of it. I would definitely recommend these units to anyone if they were going to stay in American River.

Locality

A small town on the island's north coast, American River offers a peaceful environment in which to relax. There are some lovely walks with spectacular views. At night, the town is turned over to the resident wallabies and possums which you can often see wandering along the streets.

Not to be missed is dinner at the local club on a Friday night when you can find out why we all wander round with smiles on our faces!
