Depending on the season I will use fresh organic garden produce. I am a very slow cook and will need to be told one day in advance please. I make a mean apple and rhubarb pie, or a roast pumpkin and ricotta lasagna, kangaroo or an indian assortment of dishes...
"This is the most beautiful, cosy and enjoyable holiday I have had. Every detail is accomplished with love and great thought. Little suprises abound and Sandra's cooking and Tango lessons were fabulous. Freshly baked bread and a nice warm fire awaited us every evening when we returned home from touring the wineries. We will be back as soon as possible.I have stayed in many five star hotels but this was far superior in quality, atmosphere and enjoyment."
Locality
The Barossa Valley is a beautiful place, any time of the year. If you are interested in wine, food or history, your days will be filled with ease. From the verandah at Almond Hill you can see Yalumba winery, which is well worth a closer look, and at the other end of Angaston lies Saltram's.

There are around 60 more wineries in the valley for those of you with stamina. The tree-lined main street of Angaston has many pleasures, such as an excellent bookshop, several coffeeshops, a cheesemaker, gemstone cutter, pubs and some seriously good restaurants, a newsagent where the owner knows the name of every local, shops for clothes, furniture and old things (don't miss the Abbey), the rural phenomena which is a collective of ladies and gentlemen selling baked goods (look out for my favourite, the almond crescents) and other things they make and grow, a blacksmith, Angas Park Fruits, a couple of churches and not one single traffic light. Every Saturday there is a brilliant produce market. It is all pretty laid back, really. The Barossa has several other villages to explore and fields filled with vines in between.
