Cottage

Nestled beside the Allyn River on 125 acres only minutes from The Barrington Tops National Park are two unique self contained, absolute riverfront cabins.

RIVERSIDE CABIN is located approx 15m from the river and overlooks the river.

RIVERVIEW CABIN is set back a little further at about 50m but has views of the river also. This cabin also gets the morning sun on the balcony earlier.

Each cabin contains

* The cabins have large balcony areas with 4 burner gas b.b.q. outdoor table and chairs overlooking and only metres from the pristine Allyn River.
* Campfires are located adjacent to the cabins for cooking marshmallows or whatever..
* In winter bring ample warm clothing as outside can get quite chilly.
*Pack those cossies for a swim in our private waterhole in summer.

Locality

HOW TO GET HERE:

If travelling north from SYDNEY drive through to MAITLAND and take the PATERSON turn off at the roundabout on New England Highway. Continue on through to Paterson (where there is an excellent butcher, call in for the best meat in the Hunter Valley) heading over the railway line. Stay on the road leading north to EAST GRESFORD ( with last minute grocery shopping at East Gresford IGA supermarket ). We are located approximately 35km north of East Gresford. Once in East Gresford (we recommend you top up on fuel) you continue north on the ALLYN RIVER RD passing through the small hamlets of ALLYNBROOK, HALTON and ECCLESTON. Just north of Eccleston the road becomes unsealed gravel, you now have 9 kilometres to go. Drive carefully and be aware there is usually stock i.e. dairy cattle and wildlife i.e kangaroos on the road at night.
Continue straight ahead do not veer right at Salisbury Gap Rd.
You will then cross four causeways, the last one you pass through the Allyn river. After this causeway you cross three cattle grids, (also keep an eye out for the "monster tree") just after the third you will notice a gate immediately to the right looking down to the river and the cabins. You are here, Lot 15 is written on gate. Open the gate and come on down.

Property

THE ALLYN RIVERSIDE CABINS are situated only minutes away from the State Forest and Barrington Tops National Park so for those into serious bushwalking there are some great walks nearby. On our private property there are also some fantastic walks and magnificent views. There are heaps of great things to do in the area. In the summer when the river is a little warmer we have a couple of great private swimming holes or you can head up to LADIES WELLS which is a cascading series of waterfalls which is spectacular. You might like to sit around the campfire and cook up a BBQ and watch the river go by.
