We are crazy about our dogs and love to take them with us when we holiday but the choices of well appointed accommodation is generally very limited. Here, at Aldgate House we offer luxurious pet friendly accommodation - if they are inside at home with you then they are inside here! We would appreciate all doggies who come to stay are freshly bathed and of course be flea free. Special Conditions apply for dogs over 20kgs. Well behaved, vaccinated owners are always welcome to accompany their dogs!

Bed & Breakfast, Self-contained apartment

From the moment you enter through the gates the feeling of seclusion and quality will delight you. Sweeping driveway and wide gradual steps lead you across the verandah to the large solid timber and stainless steel entrance doors.

High vaulted ceilings create a sense of grandeur as you enter the wide hallway adjacent to the large living room. This room is a sophisticated space with three large couches, an open fire, numerous bureaus and a large coffee table complete with high quality coffee table books and the latest magazines.

An ipod/MP3/iPhone docking station (Bose System), T-Box (Bigpond movies on demand), flat screen TV's with DVD's meet all your entertainment requirements.

A discreet fridge is stocked with snacks and drinks - an honour cellar applies. Only the best quality teas and coffee are supplied. Nespesso coffee machine makes a superb cafe latte, capuccino or espresso.

There is a truly sumptuous light filled bathroom with a separate toilet. Ample vanity space with double hand basins, large mirrors, heated floors and towel rails complete your modern ensuite.

A BBQ and outdoor setting, under cover, with a wonderful view to the dam beyond, lends itself to alfresco dining on warm nights.

A kitchenette is equipped with fridge, microwave, induction cooktop, coffee machine, sandwich maker and all the kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery you will need.

A large dining table and chairs completes the picture where you can linger over a late breakfast, reading the daily paper (delivered each morning), catch up on some internet surfing (free wireless internet access) or play a board game.

Locality

Aldgate Village is a gentle 15 minute walk from your accommodation, home to the iconic Aldgate Pump Hotel with bottle shop, a great beer garden and cosy wood fires in the winter. The Aldgate Providore Cafe (fabulous breakfasts), two pizza bars, take away chicken shop, supermarket, bakery & a butcher means you are spoilt for choice whether you decide to eat-in, dine out or get a pizza delivered.

There is also a hairdresser, day spa, a couple of dress shops, antiques and gifts.

The Adelaide Hills is a truly unique location; only 25mins away from the bustling capital city of Adelaide with over 200 wineries within an hour and half drive; hotels, restaurants, bakeries and eateries of every description abound. The region deservedly boasts about its produce - it is home to Beerenberg Jams, Skara Smallgoods, Kanmantoo Bacon, Hahndorf Venison, Udder Delights and Woodside Cheesewrights; its weekly Farmers Market in Mt Barker is a veritable smorgasbord of all the Adelaide Hills producers & growers have on offer.

Set on one and a half acres, bordered by pasture, with lovely views over the treetops, this garden is secluded and tucked away behind electric gates. The garden has been a labour love for its owners with roses, lavenders, Australian natives and beautiful deciduous trees giving stunning Autumn colour.
