Bed & Breakfast

Briardale House is one of Alburys finest homes. Located in a quiet Northern area of Albury, NSW, Australia, Briardale is the ideal hub for exploring our historic city and surrounds. Our home is situated on the original grounds of Briardale Orchard, established in the early 1900s by the Heathwood Family. Breakfast is are served in the Dining Room where tea, coffee & snacks are available throughout the day. Please note that Briardale is not "hi-tech" - we are very old-world - we do not have pay, satellite or cable TV, we do have free wireless internet and Free-to-Air TV/DVD in your room. All rooms feature ensuite bathrooms and individual air-conditioning.

Briardale House is licensed for your convenience, our cellar is stocked with a selection of local beers & local, Australian & French wines to be enjoyed either indoors or outside in the quiet and peaceful garden.

This to Do

Albury is an historic city, retaining much of its early architecture. Be sure to visit the Botanical gardens, undoubtedly one of the best examples in Australia. Visit the Hume Dam which services the mighty Murray River down to South Australia. Albury is the ideal hub for exploring our wonderful region. Tourist information centres are located at the Albury Railway Station and at Gateway Island, Wodonga.

How to get here

Albury is well serviced by road, rail & air. Qantas, Regional Express & Virgin Blue all connect frequently at Albury Airport. Interstate bus lines link at the Railway Station. We are about 3 hours north of Melbourne and about 5 hours south of Sydney using M31.

From Melbourne, take the "Racecourse Road" Exit, turn left and continue West along Union Road for 2.5kms - you will see the Northside Hotel on your right - continue on Union Road through this intersection for 1.0km, turn right into Diggers Rd, left into Sunwood, right into Poplar Drive. Briardale is last on the right. If you miss this exit you can take the next, which is "Thurgoona Drive" exit.

From Sydney, take the 1st or 2nd Exit. We recommend the 1st exit.

The 1st is "Davey Road" (sign posted "to Jindera"), this takes you directly to the "Old Hume Highway" (Wagga Road #31), continue to Union Road for 8.5kms - you will see the Northside Hotel on your right - turn right into Union Road at this intersection and continue along Union Rd for 1.0km, turn right into Diggers Rd, left into Sunwood, then right into Poplar Drive. Briardale is last on the right.
The 2nd exit is "Thurgoona Drive", which takes you to Wagga Road, follow the above directions. Should you have any difficulty finding us, please give a quick phone call.
