Cape Howe Cottages - midway between Denmark and Albany, provide a very different holiday experience for those who want to spend time close to nature with the added delight of doing so from luxurious 4 - 4 1/2 star rated, self contained cottages. Cape Howe Cottages embrace a simple philosophy - space, privacy and tranquillity.

Spread over 3 adjacent properties and registered as Land for Wildlife properties means that you can share this private nature retreat during your stay. There are a huge variety of natural habitats which encourage a large range of native plants, animals, fungi and birds. Being adjacent to West Cape Howe National Park and alongside coastal reserves provides a natural extension for wildlife to come visiting.

The cottages are spread well apart from each other and are indeed luxurious - spacious, beautifully decorated with quality furnishings and incredible attention to detail. Besides a fully equipped kitchen, TV/DVD/Video, CD Player, BBQ, wood heater, crisp linen and snugly quilts, there are even some extra touches that will make your holiday memorable - picnic sets, games, cards, books, magazines and, essential for spotting that Sacred Kingfisher or Firetail Finch, a pair of binoculars.

Lowlands Beach is just a short stroll from the cottages where you can try your hand at fishing or just laze about dolphin spotting and exploring rock pools.

For those serious walkers a drop off service to various locations along the Bibbulmun Track and packed lunches are provided on request. Pizzas, Curries, Breakfast Baskets and Dinner & Lunch Packs are also available for those who don't want to stray too far from home. With so much to explore right on the doorstep, this is definitely a place to throw away the car keys and experience the pure beauty of the south coast in a very private retreat.

The Cottages

The Snug oozes old world charm reminiscent of your Grandparents house. It is spacious with 2 bedrooms fully equipped with quality furnishings & polished timber floors. There is a queen bed in one bedroom & 2 singles in the other, a country style kitchen with a lovely old dresser including all utensils, appliances, crockery, cutlery & glassware; comfortable lounge area with leather suite, TV, Video, DVD & CD Player, huge bathroom & it’s bright & airy. The Snug has a wood heater for atmosphere as well as convenient reverse cycle air conditioning for heating & cooling if preferred. The veranda is just perfect for watching the sun set or enjoying a BBQ. The Snug is set within its own fully fenced 1/2 acre of garden & lawns, great for kicking a footy & safe for children & pets.
Keepers Lodge is a large holiday house on a separate 100 acre property close by. It has 4 bedrooms with queen beds in two rooms, 2 singles in another and 2 more singles & a bunk bed in another large bedroom & two bathrooms sleeping up to 10 in total. It has big fully equipped kitchen, lounge, wood heater, sunny dining area, paved outdoor area with BBQ & stunning views across the valley to Denmark. The lodge is fully fenced & surrounded by a pretty cottage garden. There are friendly free ranging horses, llamas & chickens roaming around the rest of the property making for a real country style getaway.
Cakes n Ale Cottage is perched high with views over tree tops towards the coastal reserve. It is a large 2 bedroom cottage, well equipped with deluxe furnishings & polished timber floors. There is a king bed in one bedroom & two king singles in the other which are joinable to make another king bed for couples sharing. It has one bathroom with separate shower & bath, a gourmet fully equipped kitchen, lounge with wood heater & air conditioning with plenty of light streaming through huge windows.

Luxury Retreat

Kings Den has serious WOW factor. It is a huge luxury retreat just for adults. There is a king bed on a timber platform, 2 person spa bath, outdoor shower in a courtyard (and an indoor shower too), lounge area, a stunning kitchen. It's nestled amongst tall karri trees, totally private with a great ambience and is something really very special.

The Wardroom is built on top of a hill with spectacular views of West Cape Howe National Park, coastal reserves and the southern ocean. It’s a very spacious luxury escape for adults or families with older children (12+). There’s 2 bedrooms with a King bed in one & 2 joinable king singles in the other, bathroom with a fabulous rain shower & 2 person spa, a kitchen that’s a chef’s delight complete with stainless steel appliances & dishwasher, lounge, quality furnishings, polished timber floors, convenient reverse cycle air conditioning for heating & cooling, wrap around sun decks with BBQ — just full of fabulous features to enjoy in complete privacy.

All cottages are fully equipped and have TV/Video/DVD, CD Players, washing machines plus little extras like books, games, jigsaws, cards, picnic sets, fishing rods to rent & a small selection of DVD’s & videos for hire. We also provide a range of dining options from fresh home made pizzas & curries delivered hot to your door, breakfast baskets, cook yourself pasta or BBQ packs & packed lunches especially for walkers. Living on the property allows us to offer our guests personal service & we are always happy to assist with travel information or any other special requests you may have.
