This two level log house was designed and constructed to blend into the hillside and the adjoining bushland, whilst opening up at the rear to take in over 20 kilometres of water views.
The full length covered side and front verandas offers the guests the option to relax and study the adundant wildlife in the bushland, or gaze out over the water that seems to go on forever.
Unlike most towns in the Snowy Mountains, Old Adaminaby is protected against the severe North/West winds that frequent the area, so whilst you can view the effects of the winds over the water, the house remains protected, and with it's 170mm solid log walls, and insulated roof, even the coldest weather cannot penetrate it.
Although the exterior of the house was designed to represent an early era of construction, the inclusions take advantage of todays technology.
A 112cm rear projection TV, that is linked to a Video/DVD player with Surround Sound (150 Videos & DVD's to choose from),being viewed from a large comfy lounge complete with recliners or just veg out in front of the fire.
Yuranga has been popular for 2 family groups as the parents take over the upper lounge and send the kids downstairs to enjoy their own TV with video, dvd, xbox, nintendo or if they are older sit around their own fireplace and enjoy the leather lounge.
This xbox system has now been expanded with the addittion of another xbox downstairs, and both units have been interlinked with 8 controllers and about 25 games to choose from.
All bedrooms have 51 cm TV's, plus a 68cm in the downstairs living area.
The kitchen is fully featured with an automatic wall oven and ceramic cooktop, Microwave ovens, Electric Frypans, Sandwich Makers, Toasters, Mixer and two drawers of kitchen gadgets.

LocalityAdaminaby hit the headlines in 1949, when the first blast was set off not far from the town, to signify the commencement of The Snowy Mountains Scheme.
Now in completion, it is referred to as one of the 7 enginering wonders of the world, and the house is sited in an ideal location to base your tours from.
Within easy driving times, locations such as Eucembene, Tantangra, Talbingo, and Blowering Dams can be explored as well as the power stations of Tumut 1, 2 and 3 where tours are operated year round.
Or perhaps you may like to enter the nearby Kosciuszko National Park and check out the alpine flora and fauna.
Also in this section of the Park you will find Yarrangobilly Caves that offer both self guide and guided tours through the caves as well as a swim in thermal pool (a constant 27 degrees).
PropertyThere will be times when the area is subjected to the extremes that nature has to offer, so during theses times there are over 100 DVD and Videos to choose from, or load up the xboxes and have a upstairs versus downstairs battle while waiting for the weather to improve.
