ACTON COTTAGE is a cosy one-bedroom fully self contained sandstone cottage nestled in a private and tranquil corner of historic Acton Estate.

French doors open from the living area into your own sunny secluded courtyard.

The bedroom has an antique half tester bed with period furnishings. The bedroom vista extends through the courtyard and leafy surrounds to the sparkling waters of nearby Seven Mile Beach.

The bathroom features antique style brass fittings and bathrrom furniture, and under floor heating completes the luxury experience.

The entire cottage has underfloor heating to ensure the cottage is always warm and cosy and and an open log fire is available for added ambience.

A kitchenette is equipped with all you need for meal preparation and most condiments and basic cooking necessities are provided for your conveniance.

Acton Park is situated between Hobart and the Airport, making the cottages popular for tourists arriving late evening or leaving early morning.

It is close to Seven Mile Beach and is conveniently located for touring Port Arthur, Richmond Village, the Coal Valley wine region and most of southern Tasmania's major tourist attractions.

The cottage is within five minutes drive of Hobart's major golf courses including Royal Hobart and Tasmania Golf Clubs.

Acton House is one of Tasmania's older homesteads and is listed on the National Estate. Built around 1830 by convict labour, the house and its outlying cottages originally housed a small and remote farming community.

In the mid 1900s Acton became a popular riding school, with the stables and shearing shed providing ideal facilities for young riders.

Robert and Margaret Brand acquired the property in 1989. By this time the land had been reduced to 15 acres. Over the last 18 years they have restored the cottages and transformed horse paddocks into gardens and parkland that complement the accommodation experience.

Guests are invited to wander around the property and experience the history as well as the tranquility.
