DAY 1 (L,D)
South East, to our first stop, the Aboriginal Community of Santa Teresa. Further south to experience mirages and climbing big red sand dunes. Visit rare Acacia Peuce “Waddy Trees” in the driest part of Australia. Along the Old Andado Track to Molly Clarks Pioneer Homestead in the Simpson Desert
We traverse the Southern Hemisphere’s largest private Cattle Station “Andado”. Through the Finke River Floodout and across the NT-SA Border to Mt Dare Hotel, a unique remote Oasis for man & birds in far north South Australia.

DAY 2 (B,L,D)
For early risers, walks & birding around Mt Dare Hotel – Red Tailed Cockatoos & Little Corellas are often seen. Todays journey within Witjira Park highlights the pioneering courage of settlers at Bloods Creek, Federal & Dalhousie. In 1936 Ted Colson did the first crossing of the Simpson Desert and then returned to Bloods Creek Homestead. Time to swim in Dalhousie Thermal Pool. Experience vast 360degree horizons up to 100km’s away as we cross gibber strewn, treeless country. Return to the enclave of Mt Dare Hotel to swap yarns with fellow travellers.

DAY 3 (B,L)
Farewells at Mt Dare, back into the Northern Territory. Our first stop, Charlotte Waters Telegraph Station ruins. Onto Finke Township. We make a 60km detour to visit the Lambert Gravitational Centre on Lilla Creek Station. Back to the Old GHAN town of Finke, now Apatula Aboriginal village. Here we learn of GHAN History & modern mechanical “madness” of the Finke Desert race.
North, across the Finke River,& along the Old GHAN track to Bundooma. West, over sand dunes to Alice Well on the Hugh River. This Historic village site (1887 to 1911), is accessed by only a small number of Modern travellers. Along a beautiful Red Sand Track, which follows a remaining section of the Old Telegraph Line, to Titjikala, then homeward to Alice Springs.
