Luxury Outback Cabins:
Enjoy the ultimate luxury in the outback set inside the Ooraminna Ranges with spectacular scenery. Watch the morning sunrise or the sunset from your own private verandah area. Each of the cabins includes your own private bathroom facilities, queen size four poster bed made from local timber, heating or air conditioning, ceiling fans, private verandah and all walking distance from the main homestead where meals are served.
Stone Cottage Police Station & Gaol:
This is a relaxing and fun place to spend the night away from it all. Handcrafted in local stone, there is an open fireplace for the winter warmth. Suitable for families and groups with an authentic gaol located at the rear of the building, it is a true outback experience. Airconditioning and bathroom facilities.
Wooden Slab Hut: for a taste of the outback in comfort, the Slab Hut is for you. Recreated from a photo of a pioneer’s home, the wooden Slab Hut is located only a few metres from the main homestead. It is powered, with a queen size bed and single beds, has it's own bathroom and an open fireplace for winter warmth. The verandah and accompanying views are the perfect way to while away an afternoon.
Swags:
For the adventurous, swag the night under a sky of a thousands stars. Sleep like the men do while on stock camp, be out in the bush and enjoy the peace and quiet while being mesmerised by an ink black, star studded night sky. Enjoy a camping experience where all equipment is supplied by Ooraminna Homestead, including the swag which is a bedroll with mattress, linen and blankets contained in a canvas envelope/bag. All camping sites have toilet and shower blocks for your convenience.
Touring Options:Cattle Station Tour:
Personalised, comfortable 4WD tour of Deepwell Station - one of the Northern Territory's oldest pastoral properties. During the tour you will learn all about the unique flora, fauna and landforms of Central Australia and gain insight into the workings of a traditional cattle station.
By arrangement only: $150 per person with a minimum of 2 pax and a maximum of 4pax.
East MacDonnell Tour - explore the East MacDonnell ranges with a personal tour guide to learn about the flora and fauna and landforms of the area.
By arrangement only: $250 per person with a minimum of 2 pax and a maximum of 4pax.
Hot Air Ballooning:
We can organise for you to experience hot air ballooning over Alice Springs. It's the only way to see the sunrise. Following the flight you can tuck into the traditional ballooning breakfast of champagne and chicken.

Helicopter Flights:
We can organise for you to experience this spectacular landscape from the air. Take a helicopter flight from Ooraminna or transfer from Alice Springs via helicopter.
Transfers to and from Alice Springs:
We can pick you up from your accommodation in Alice Springs, from the airport or train station or wherever is easiest for you and bring you out to Ooraminna. Alternatively we can provide driving instructions if you are self driving. Prices start from $120 per transfer. Activities:Besides taking a tour there are many activities you can indulge in whilst staying at Ooraminna Homestead.
Follow the station tracks by foot or roam through the beautiful Ooraminna Ranges. And while you are bushwalking view native Australian animals such as kangaroos in their natural environment. Perenties (the world's second largest lizard) are often spied loping along with their slow, swaying walk.
Then there are the feral animals such as the camel, often viewed roaming the vastness of this property.
Bird watchers will enjoy the variety of birdlife seen here at Ooraminna Homestead. From finches and honeyeaters to the Australian ringneck and then the spectacular Wedge-Tailed Eagle.
At night you can enjoy good home cooked station food and interesting conversation with the owners of Ooraminna Homestead - Jan & Bill Hayes -both true Australian outback characters.
